'I did it for charity!'

This is a day late, but Aug. 11, 1979 was the kind of thing from years past that gets us all misty-eyed here at Match Pricks.

Season almost upon us ...

...as Bob Paisley's side gave the Gunners a footballing lesson...

If 3-1 is a footballing lesson, what was the 6-1 Carling Cup drubbing?

And hey, have we mentioned that the season is almost here?

There is a big difference between the curtain raiser of a new football season, (with a beautiful silver platter the spoils) and a 6th round mickey mouse cup game. By the way the score was 6 - 3. What type of research and quality control does this website have?
Oh and if you want more recent history how about last seasons 4-2 Reds victory on the grandest stage of them all.
Have Arsenal ever won the Champions league? No... really! Thats right they capitulated to Barcelona.
Oh and just because you love it so much when I mention it - 18 league titles the most of any British team.
Thanks Colin for starring up the animosity between your ragtime bunch of misfits and the greatest team the world has ever seen. Just for those keeping score at home - we've got Torres you've got Eboue!!

Sorry Peter
Just to explain the the changes in the modern world if I may. Slamming eachothers teams is an expression of Love and mutual respect. It shows we care enough to sit down and type a response no matter how insulting the comments might be. Ultimately Match Pricks is bringing us all together (a public service if you will)and solidifying our relationships. That being said
Fulhum suck!!!
