Didn't quite work out like that, did it? Mmmm.
Hasn't quite worked out like that this morning either. I expected to roll out of bed, hop on my laptop and catch up with the final details of The Arshavin Saga - all the while reading wonderful quotes from my trusted leader, Arsene Wenger. Maybe a few hits at the way Zenit do business from ol' Peter Hill-Wood (one of the most incredibly quotable men in professional sports, truth be told), and then if I was lucky, one of the columnists I so enjoy in any number of newspapers would start stroking my imagination with just how the little guy will fit in. (Quick side note for those who aren't fully aware, Arsenal are notoriously tight-lipped when it comes to transfer dealings. It can drive us supporters mad with all of the conjecture, but in the end, we just need to trust Arsene, and it seems to be proven every time. Even though I'd have liked a few more dramatic moves this time around. As Arseblog noted this morning, we didn't catch a peep about the Eduardo deal last year. Still precious little this time around, in spite of the fact that Arsene, rather shockingly, actually admitted his preference for the player. And in spite of the fact that Zenit did everything out in the open in what I'd call a particularly dishonorable way of doing business.)
No such luck. Still waiting. As a friend commented already this morning - can't be completely comfortable with this one until we see him standing at the snowy Emirates with Arsene grinning next to him (presumably with a bit of a wink for a job well done and the not-so-subtle hint of "see, I told you so.")
Up next, Act II of the North London Derby. We need to be accounted for in this one, folks.

Well...Act II is upon us and Arshavin is a gunner! I am so ecstatic to see what form of performance he brings into the premier league. I don't know too much about him, but after seeing him destroy Euro nations and dissect a B+ squad in United at the Supercup, I believe he will make his unforgettable mark. Kudos Arsenal on the negotiation process and best of luck! (This is coming from a United fan...see, some of us are respectable!)
"Some" is the key word in your post there.
